About Mandy…..

Hi there! My name is Mandy and I am the Handmade Homeschooler.

I’m a Reformed Christian, wife, and mother to 2 boys. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education and almost 10 years experience teaching Preschool and VPK in the states of Florida and North Carolina. I am also the former owner of Amanda’s Designer Decals and Nerzy SEO Agency. I am now a full time wife, homeschool mom, and content creator. In 2006, my husband Daniel and I were married. Daniel was an active duty Marine at the time and our adventure in marriage and the military began. Life as a military wife made teaching a bit challenging we didn’t stay in one place long. I’ve never been afraid of a challenge, however! My husband is now retired from the Marine Corps, and assists me with teaching our children.

I have been on Youtube with The Handmade Homeschooler since 2016 and I have over 22,000 subscribers at this time. My passion has always been teaching, whether that is children or adults. I am an active partner with Generations, Apologia, Compass Classroom, Teaching Textbooks, and IEW curriculum companies, all of which we use with our children in our homeschool.

Story Behind The Brand…

In 2015, my husband and I decided to homeschool our children. It was then that I fell back in love with teaching. I started a youtube channel to help other parents with homeschooling and to review books (curriculum books and literature).

In 2021, I created a new brand, By Mandy Maltz, and launched a website to further help homeschooling parents. Blogging has always been a fun hobby, and I wanted to help other parents with through writing my reviews.

My Facebook group was also created, and quickly grew to over 6,000 active members where homeschool parents can come and meet, ask questions, and get the help they need to start their journey.

In August 2021, I released my first line of preschool lesson plans for homeschool parents and preschool teachers. I primarily review curriculum books, Christian books for moms, film unboxing/flip through videos, and help parents make choices on Biblically sound curriculum for their families.

Basically, I just love books and sharing them online with all of my friends. Curriculum books, novels, children’s literature, you name it, I love it. I get to do the one thing I love almost more than anything in the world (and get paid for it); read and review books! Thirteen year old me would be screaming with delight if she knew this was my “job” as an adult.
