It’s officially back to school season!
For preschoolers and kindergartners, this means lots of apple themed lesson plans are ahead.
Many moons ago, I was a preschool teacher. It was my favorite age and grade to teach. We always had an apple themed lesson plan for the month of August for back to school.
To go along with my brand new Apples Preschool Lesson Plans, I’ve put together a book list for you. These are all available at Amazon! You can check out my apple lesson plans below. They are FULL of apple preschool fun!
Here are some of my favorite apple books for Preschoolers!
Apples for Everyone - National Geographic
This book has a lot of great real-life pictures and photography about apples and apple trees that pre-k children will enjoy. With all of this book’s realistic photographs, this would be a great science book for a preschool apple theme.
Ten Apples Up On Top - by Theo. LeSieg and Roy McKie
Of course, Ten Apples Up On Top is a classic Dr. Seuss book that no apple theme would be complete without. This is also a great book for beginner readers. With simple language, bright pictures, and a fun story, your preschoolers will love this apple book!
Apples by Gail Gibbons
Apples by Gail Gibbons is a beautifully illustrated book that goes beyond normal picture books. With a recipe and breakdown of the different pieces of an apple, it wades into the world of preschool science. This book is a great circle time books for preschoolers, as they will learn quite a bit about apples. Perfect for homeschooling preschool!
An Apple’s Life
One thing I always teach during our preschool apple theme is the life cycle of an apple. This book does a wonderful job of showing the apple life cycle. With real pictures, it will intrigue and give preschoolers an in depth look at how an apple grows.
Apples and Pumpkins
From the listing…"When red and yellow leaves are on the trees," a little girl goes with her parents to a farm where they pick apples and choose "the best pumpkin of them all." Back home, she helps to carve a grinning jack-o'-lantern face on the big orange pumpkin, which guards their doorstep on halloween night while her mother hands out shiny red apples and she and her father go trick-or-treating with the neighborhood ghosts and goblins.”
How sweet does that description sound? I love the pictures in this book, and I know your preschooler will, too!
My Little Golden Book About Johnny Appleseed
You can’t go wrong with any Little Golden books. These classic books are always a hit. Your preschoolers will love this story about Johnny Appleseed!
Until next time,
Soli Deo Gloria,
Mandy
