This year threw a curve ball at me

This has been one of the best, but hardest homeschool years we’ve faced.

We’re mid-way through the 2022-2023 homeschool year, and it’s been nothing short of a whirlwind. I’ve never been happier with our curriculum, which has been very nice for us all around.

But we faced challenges that we’ve never faced before with my youngest child, Jake, having ITP. It was so out of the blue, and so sudden, that we didn’t even have time to react until it was over. We have spent weeks at the hospital, and going back and forth to have him checked. The next year (and possibly longer than that) will be full of hospital visits, checkups, and blood draws.

I didn’t factor that into our homeschool year. I had all of these things planned, but I didn’t account for this.

Here’s how I’m handling the adjustment to my schedule and how I’m dealing with giving up control for the “perfect homeschool year”.

I was not prepared…
