Where is your Nose?

Where is your nose lately? Have you read any good books so far this year?

Last year was terrible for me as far as books. I’ve always been an avid reader. Before homeschool and working at home took over, I would read a book a day! Or at least two books a week. The last few years it’s seemed that I’ve read less and less. Compile that with my sudden genetic disorder (you can view more about that here), and it’s safe to say I didn’t read anything new in the last 2 years.

I made myself a promise this year. I was going to read again.

I read my Bible frequently, but I wanted novels.

Theology books.

Missionary books.

Christian fiction.

I’ve read up to 20 books so far this year.

How?

Two ways!

First, I read books aloud with my children. That’s a good way to make sure we ALL get a good book in.

Second, I started listening to audio books! Now, I can hear the groans already. Just hear me out. Audio books are so wonderful. I can get a good book while cooking, cleaning, and even getting ready for the day. For Christmas, I asked for Air Pods just for this purpose. They have been SO handy for me!

My favorites so far this year:

  1. Eve in Exile by Rebekah Merkle

  2. Kingdom Tales, My Father’s World Publishing

  3. Christian Heroes Then and Now; Corrie Ten Boom

  4. How to be Free From Bitterness by Jim Wilson

  5. Reforming Marriage by Doug and Nancy Williams

What have you read?

Until next time,

Soli Deo Gloria,

Mandy
