Campfire Curriculum

This is our second unit from Campfire Curriculums.

I’m featuring the United States Military unit in this review.

What We Thought

First, my family is a military family, which means my family (my husband especially) is a difficult critique on anything military related. I was really shocked though, when he came in after we put these books together and told me how much he loved this unit. He mentioned that he even learned a few things himself.

Right from the start, I knew this was going to be good.

What I love about Campfire Curriculums is that it’s really geared toward the dads. Not saying that Mom can’t teach this unit at all, but it’s really Dad-friendly and Dad-encouraged. As a family who has Dad at home all the time now (retired from the USMC), it’s nice to have something that feels like it’s his and the kids.

These lessons are only 30 minutes long! They encourage you to set a timer for 30 minutes and when it goes off, you’re done for the day.

No worksheets in the units! YAY! I love that this unit study focuses on more “doing” than busy work.

It’s for all ages. You’ll get elementary, middle, and high school books with each unit you purchase. Which means you can teach all your children at the same time, table-subject style.
